Automatic Transmission Repair & Service
Auto Transmission Repair Services in Denver-Metro, CO
Automatic transmissions have evolved over the years from 2-speed transmissions in the 1950s and 1960s to computer-controlled four, five, and even eight-speed transmissions. This means more technology through computer controls and more mechanical parts all working together. It takes highly skilled technicians to understand and repair these more complex transmissions and the technology is constantly changing so continuous training and advanced diagnostic equipment is also required.
All Advanced Transmission Center technicians are transmission specialists rather than auto repair generalists and know the ins and outs of automatic transmission repair. They are skilled in both the mechanics within the transmission and computer controls that signal to the transmission when to shift. Today’s hi-tech transmissions require a highly specialized skill set.
Should I have my automatic transmission checked?
If your transmission slips, leaks, or shifts differently than it once did, it’s time to have it checked.
Our Free TrueTest™ Inspection has been developed over time to correctly diagnose these problems—precisely pinpointing what is wrong and only quoting you for the repairs you need.
Sadly had to have our transmission replaced. John and the team were amazing to work with. Very professional, responsive, high quality work and service oriented. So grateful to have found them. And we got our car back in about half the time expected and with a good warranty and best pricing in the area. Thank you. Would definitely recommend.
I called over to get a pre-purchase inspection and have them look at the transmission for a car I was hoping to buy. Karl was honest with me and talked transmissions over the phone and in person. They took a good look at the car, gave me their honest review, adjusted some things with the transmission so that it would adapt to my driving, and sent me on my way. I was able to take care of this in a few hours while I was at work which made it even better. They were very professional and cour… Read More
My 19 year old truck wouldn’t come out of park. My regular technician doesn’t work on transmissions and suggested these guys. Even on the first phone call they were personable, knowledgeable, and professional. Once they got into it, they diagnosed(in under a day) that the problem wasn’t in the transmission at all, but a $10 bushing under the shifter. They don’t do work outside of the transmission, so they couldn’t fix it themselves. Even so, they showed me where the problem was, and what part… Read More
My Subaru was having transmission trouble and this shop was recommended from my usual mechanic (they can’t repair transmissions). Jake was extremely helpful and kind, especially during what seemed to be a busy week for the shop. After a diagnostic drive, it turned out the repair was going to be far beyond the resale value of the car, so I chose not to go forward with any work. In a different circumstance, I would definitely trust the repairs and work with this team.
This transmission shop is amazing! Very professional service with honesty and integrity. I was leaking transmission fluid on my Ram 2500. Another shop said it was the front seal and they could replace it for $2,000. I called Anthony and he got me in the same week. Expecting to hear the same outcome, I was pleasantly surprised when he told me it was only a cooler line. He got the oem one ordered from Dodge and even had one of his techs pick it up in order to get the truck repaired faster. Than… Read More
Anthony was the most polite person I have ever encountered as a customer at and auto repair service shop. My Subaru was not shifting as normal. They took my car and ran a diagnosis. It was determined that it was misfiring and the transmission was perfectly fine. There was no charge and they provided a referral to a local shop. I wanted to pay for their time but they would not accept. Great business. Top notch local business!
Anthony was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We came in to the shop thinking we had a transmission issue. He asked us a number of questions to help us articulate exactly what was going on and told us he thought it was something entirely different! He did a free diagnostic inspection and sent us to a trusted shop that could perform the repair we needed. Outstanding customer service. I almost wish we needed a transmission repair!
After many miles on my new transmission I can finally say absolutely nothing but positive things to say about these guys and their work! They nocked out my firepunk comp stage 1 transmission for 800hp in my 2006 dodge 2500. Don’t hesitate even if you have a performance transmission like I did. They treated me like a human not a cash register. I will always be going to advance transmission from now on! Anthony is a very down to earth guy and is a dodge owner him self! Couldn’t be happier!… Read More
Took a vehicle in thinking something was wrong… shop was honest and told me it all looked great! I couldn’t believe it… I can’t even get an oil change without a phone call about this or that… they were also able to repair/rebuild a transmission for a different vehicle I own at a fraction of the cost from other shops. Will not hesitate to use this shop again… honesty is the most important quality I look for in a business.
Love working with this team. They are professional, honest and produce high quality work. We recommend them to all our customers.
Can this problem be my vehicle’s computer?
Yes, it can be, but probably is not. While it is not impossible for the Transmission Control Module (computer) to go bad, it is a very rare occurrence. Transmissions today are computer-controlled. If the transmission control module detects a problem, it will change how the transmission operates to let you know you should have it checked. So, even though the transmission control module may be causing your transmission to act oddly. It is programmed to do so in order to protect the transmission from further damage. Our TrueTest™ Inspection starts with a full diagnosis of your transmission control module to determine if the issues are mechanical or electrical.
Automatic transmission repair or replace?
Due to the highly technical nature of automatic transmissions today most dealerships do not have transmission technicians in their service department. What this means is, if you have a transmission problem, they will recommend that your transmission be totally replaced. Most often, they will replace it with a remanufactured unit, not a new one. In most cases, you do not need a whole new transmission. You need some work on your transmission and many times that work is minor. Even if it turns out to be a major repair, most of the time it will cost less to rebuild your transmission than to replace the entire transmission.
Advanced Transmission Centers have been rebuilding and repairing transmissions for people in Denver, Lakewood, Golden, Arvada, Westminster, Littleton, Englewood, Thornton, and Northglen since 1986.
We have the experience to get the job done right.
