Manual/Standard Transmission Repair & Service
Geared for customer satisfaction in Thornton, Westminster, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood and Denver, Colorado
Standard or manual transmissions are so-called because the driver must manually shift, as opposed to the transmission automatically shifting. Even after the advent of the automatic transmission, manual transmissions remained the dominant choice for several decades. Today, they are much more rare with only 6.5% of new cars in the U.S. sold with manual transmissions.
A clutch problem can feel like a transmission problem. Our Free TrueTest™ Inspection will determine what the problem is.
Sadly had to have our transmission replaced. John and the team were amazing to work with. Very professional, responsive, high quality work and service oriented. So grateful to have found them. And we got our car back in about half the time expected and with a good warranty and best pricing in the area. Thank you. Would definitely recommend.
I called over to get a pre-purchase inspection and have them look at the transmission for a car I was hoping to buy. Karl was honest with me and talked transmissions over the phone and in person. They took a good look at the car, gave me their honest review, adjusted some things with the transmission so that it would adapt to my driving, and sent me on my way. I was able to take care of this in a few hours while I was at work which made it even better. They were very professional and cour… Read More
My 19 year old truck wouldn’t come out of park. My regular technician doesn’t work on transmissions and suggested these guys. Even on the first phone call they were personable, knowledgeable, and professional. Once they got into it, they diagnosed(in under a day) that the problem wasn’t in the transmission at all, but a $10 bushing under the shifter. They don’t do work outside of the transmission, so they couldn’t fix it themselves. Even so, they showed me where the problem was, and what part… Read More
My Subaru was having transmission trouble and this shop was recommended from my usual mechanic (they can’t repair transmissions). Jake was extremely helpful and kind, especially during what seemed to be a busy week for the shop. After a diagnostic drive, it turned out the repair was going to be far beyond the resale value of the car, so I chose not to go forward with any work. In a different circumstance, I would definitely trust the repairs and work with this team.
This transmission shop is amazing! Very professional service with honesty and integrity. I was leaking transmission fluid on my Ram 2500. Another shop said it was the front seal and they could replace it for $2,000. I called Anthony and he got me in the same week. Expecting to hear the same outcome, I was pleasantly surprised when he told me it was only a cooler line. He got the oem one ordered from Dodge and even had one of his techs pick it up in order to get the truck repaired faster. Than… Read More
Anthony was the most polite person I have ever encountered as a customer at and auto repair service shop. My Subaru was not shifting as normal. They took my car and ran a diagnosis. It was determined that it was misfiring and the transmission was perfectly fine. There was no charge and they provided a referral to a local shop. I wanted to pay for their time but they would not accept. Great business. Top notch local business!
Anthony was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We came in to the shop thinking we had a transmission issue. He asked us a number of questions to help us articulate exactly what was going on and told us he thought it was something entirely different! He did a free diagnostic inspection and sent us to a trusted shop that could perform the repair we needed. Outstanding customer service. I almost wish we needed a transmission repair!
After many miles on my new transmission I can finally say absolutely nothing but positive things to say about these guys and their work! They nocked out my firepunk comp stage 1 transmission for 800hp in my 2006 dodge 2500. Don’t hesitate even if you have a performance transmission like I did. They treated me like a human not a cash register. I will always be going to advance transmission from now on! Anthony is a very down to earth guy and is a dodge owner him self! Couldn’t be happier!… Read More
Took a vehicle in thinking something was wrong… shop was honest and told me it all looked great! I couldn’t believe it… I can’t even get an oil change without a phone call about this or that… they were also able to repair/rebuild a transmission for a different vehicle I own at a fraction of the cost from other shops. Will not hesitate to use this shop again… honesty is the most important quality I look for in a business.
Love working with this team. They are professional, honest and produce high quality work. We recommend them to all our customers.
When do I need to have my manual transmission checked?
Like most things with your vehicle, if you notice a change in operation you should have it checked. Common symptoms of an issue with your manual transmission are that it will become hard to shift or grind during shifting. This can happen during shifting up or down to a lower gear. Diagnosis requires a condensed version of our inspection process. There is never a charge for this and will give us the information we need to tell you what needs to be done.
Should I have the fluid changed in my manual transmission?
Yes. You should refer to your owner’s manual. Fluids for manual transmissions have changed over the years and not all fluids are the same. The interval is dependent upon the type and weight of fluid used in your transmission. We would caution that some manufactures consider their fluid “lifetime” fluid. While we agree fluids have improved over the years they will not last forever. In these cases we recommend this fluid be changed at intervals between 80,000 miles and 100,000 miles.
