Terrible Transmission – Part 1

Having a transmission problem can be a major pain.  Trust me on this, I know.  Especially when you don’t know it’s a transmission problem.  If only I knew then what I know now.  Driving down the road my car began to clunk and rattle.  Mostly rattle.  I wasn’t sure what the problem was, but I knew something wasn’t right.  As my car was still under warranty, I called my dealer and told them what I heard and they said it was probably something wrong in my struts. (… yea… because they know that from my phone call.)  They said they could get me in to look at it later the next week.  “Is it okay to drive?” I asked, unsure that that the dealership mechanics were correct in diagnosing the problem from my poor description.  “Sure.  It’ll be fine,” they said, “Just bring it in next week.”  Meanwhile the rattle is driving me crazy and I’m driving back and forth to work thinking that it’s a simple problem, but deep down knowing that something is really wrong….
