Lakewood Transmissions: Champion Niwot HS Runner Breaks Record

Lakewood TransmissionsAs fellow fans of moving fast, we here at Advanced Transmission Center would like to congratulate one girl who really knows how to speed. Elise Cranny, now graduated from Niwot High School, has wowed crowds for the second year in a row at the Colorado track and field state championships in Jeffco Stadium right near our Lakewood transmission repair center.

Both this year and last year, Elise swept the competition in all three long distance events: the 800-meter, the 1600-meter, and the 3200-meter runs. Not only that, but on her most recent 3200-meter run, she broke the longstanding Colorado high school record. She ran the 3200-meter, about two miles, in 10 minutes and 17.48 seconds, breaking the previous record set 23 years ago by Melody Fairchild.

Melody, who is now 40 years old and coaches track at Shining Mountain High School in Boulder, was there at Jeffco Stadium to award Elise her medals. Melody is still a legend among runners in this state, though her college running career at the University of Oregon was often interrupted by illness and injury. Let’s hope that Elise’s upcoming running career at Stanford University will prove happier and healthier.

Congratulations, Elise! Our Lakewood transmissions experts at Advanced Transmission think we can speak for all Coloradans in saying we are very proud of you and wish you the best in all your endeavors!
